Catechist Formation - Level 2 (ages 6-9) - Yuba City

Description

This 104-hour course provides the training required to achieve certification by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for catechesis of 6-9 year-olds. After the first seven days of the course through July, 2016, participants will have enough training to begin working with children in Level 2. To participate in this training, catechists must already be certified in Level 1 by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

 

Schedule

First Half - Summer, 2016 (56 hours)

Thu-Fri, June 16-17, 2016, 8AM to 5PM (16 hours)

Thu-Fri, June 30 - July 1, 2016, 8AM to 5PM (16 hours)

Wed-Fri, July 20-22, 2016, 8AM to 5PM (24 hours)

 

Second Half - Summer, 2017 (48 hours)

Tue-Wed, June 13-14, 2017, 8AM to 5PM (16 hours)

Tue-Wed, June 27-28, 2017, 8AM to 5PM (16 hours)

Tue-Wed, July 11-12, 2017, 8AM to 5PM (16 hours)

 

Leader(s)

Janette Vincent, Head Catechist for the Greater Sacramento Atrium, heads a team of seven lead catechists and ten assistant catechists, serving children from 24 different parishes in six counties. She is certified by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and has led over 2,200 hours of catechesis with 3-12 year olds since 2004. Janette is married with three homeschooled children. She practiced medicine as a family physician before becoming a stay-at-home mother.

St Isidore Atrium in Yuba City. Address, map and directions will be sent to registrants.

 

Tuition

The following tuition amounts are for catechists from parishes within the Diocese of Sacramento. Applicants who are not from parishes in the Diocese of Sacramento, please contact us for tuition amounts.

  • Payment 1: $200 if received in full by Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 4PM; $300 if received by Monday, June 13, 2016 at 4PM.
  • Payment 2: $200 if received in full by Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 4PM; $300 if received by Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 4PM (Participants making their second payment after this date are welcome to resume their training after we receive their second payment.)

Simple lunches are included. Because Cenacle is a 501(c)(3) exempt nonprofit organization, your tuition may be tax deductible.

 

Financial Assistance 

Limited financial assistance is available for applicants from within the Diocese of Sacramento. For more information, and to apply for financial assistance, click here. We must receive financial assistance applications by May 27, 2017 at 4PM. In fairness to all, be sure to submit your financial assistance application promptly, and please do not ask us to make special individual exceptions to this firm deadline.
